Equipment You’ll Need

To make this recipe simple and successful, first gather the following tools before you begin.

  • Large sauté pan or cast iron skillet – This ensures even cooking and perfect browning.
  • Next, measuring cups – Use these for precise ingredient portions.
  • Then, a mallet – Helpful for pounding chicken evenly so it cooks quickly and stays tender.
  • After that, a large wooden spoon or utensil – Ideal for stirring and scraping up those delicious browned bits.
  • Finally, a knife and cutting board – Perfect for cutting chicken into smaller, bite-sized pieces if desired.

Ingredients & Substitutions

Let’s break down what you’ll need for this easy marry me chicken recipe and why each ingredient is important.

Marry Me Chicken Ingredients
  • 2 ½ lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts – Lean and high in protein, they sear beautifully. Substitution: boneless skinless chicken thighs for juicier results.
  • Salt & pepper – Enhances the flavors of the chicken and sauce. Substitution: garlic salt or seasoned salt if you prefer.
  • Lori’s Marry Me Chicken seasoning packet – The star flavor booster with herbs and spices perfectly balanced.

Variations You’ll Love

One of the best parts about this easy marry me chicken recipe is how customizable it is.

  • To begin with, try a spicy variation – Add red pepper flakes, a pinch of cayenne, or diced jalapeños.
  • For a healthier twist, add veggies – Mix in spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini for extra nutrition.
  • When cooking for little ones, go kid-friendly – Cut chicken into small bite-sized pieces; kids often love it more this way.
  • If you need a dairy-free option, no problem – Use full-fat coconut milk and dairy-free Parmesan.
  • Finally, for a classic Italian-style meal, serve with pasta – Make this a true marry me chicken recipe with pasta by tossing it with fettuccine, penne, or your favorite noodles.

Different Ways to Enjoy This Easy Marry Me Chicken Recipe

This meal isn’t limited to just one serving style.

  • For instance, you can start by serving it over fluffy white rice or brown rice for a classic pairing.
  • Alternatively, you might pair it with pasta for the ultimate comfort food experience.
  • In addition, you could spoon it over mashed potatoes for a cozy, homestyle twist.
  • Finally, for a lighter option, serve it alongside roasted veggies or a crisp green salad.

How to Store & Reheat

Leftovers of this easy marry me chicken recipe are just as good the next day, maybe even better. To begin, store them properly to keep all the flavor.

  • First, for the refrigerator, place leftovers in an airtight container where they will keep for 3–5 days.
  • Next, if you’d like to freeze them, this recipe freezes well. I love using Souper Cubes to freeze individual portions—because this way, they’re easy to organize and reheat!
  • When it comes to reheating from the fridge, warm gently on the stovetop with a splash of broth or cream, or microwave in 1-minute intervals until hot.
  • Finally, if reheating from the freezer, thaw overnight in the fridge, then reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave until warmed through.
